Spikeball has quickly become one of the most popular summer drinking games. It is best played camping, on the beach, or as part of you next beer olympics. Spikeball is a 2V2 outdoor drinking game that blends fundamentals of volleyball, handball and squash. Players use quick reflexes and speed to spike a ball off a small trampoline. If your hand-eye coordination isn’t the best, try another outdoor game like Corn Hole.
Players
Two Teams of 2 are required to play Spikeball.
Equipment

Setup Spikeball Drinking Game
- Setup the Spikeball net
- Divide players into two teams of two
- Select a side of the net for each team to stand on
- Quickly volley the ball to determine which team starts. The team that drops the ball during the volley goes second.
How To Play Spikeball
- The game begins by the first team serving the ball off the net and upwards to the opposing team. All strikes must hit the net before the opposing teams turn.
- The returning team has three ALTERNATING touches to return the ball to the net. (One player can not hit the ball twice in a row).
- This back and fourth continues until one team is unable to return the ball. If the team cannot return the ball the opposing gets a point.
- Play unit 15 or 21 points.
Serving
- All serves must be tossed at least 4 inches in the air before being struck
- The team that one the last point gets to serve. If the returning team wins they select a teammate to serve.
- Teammates must alternate serving. The same player cannot serve to rounds in a row.
Scoring
A point is awarded if the opposing team:
- Fails to return the ball to the net in 3 touches or less
- The ball touches the ground
- The ball rolls across the net
Spikeball Drinking Rules
A player must drink anytime:
- The opposing team gets a point
- They fail to properly serve
- The word Spike is said
Remember not to drink and drive. Cut yourself off from drinking if you begin to feel too intoxicated.
