Liar’s Dice is the game they play on Pirates of the Caribbean to determine if Will Turner will spend an eternity on the Flying Dutchmen. This game will use A LOT of dice and I mean a lot. If you only have a few you will want to play Old Mexico.
Players: 3+
Gear
- 3 -6 Dice PER PLAYER (the more the better)
- One Solo cup per player
- Table and chairs
Setup
Sit around the table, with all dice in the cup. Use the cup to roll the dice, keeping the cup upside down to cover your numbers from your opponents.
Game Play
The round begins by rolling the dice and covering them with their cup so opponents cannot see their numbers. Players take turns making bids. A bid is claiming there are AT LEAST a certain amount of dice on the table. For example if a player bids there are “THREE 5s” they are claiming there are at least three 5s on the table, but there can be 4 or more as well. The next player to the right now takes their turn and has 3 options.
- The player may up the bid by saying there is more of something on the table. For example is the previous person called “THREE 5s” you may call “FOUR 5s” OR FIVE 2s”
- The Player may call BULLSHIT on the previous person. This means there is not AT LEAST the amount of dice called (there may be more)
- The Player can call SAME. This means they are stating there are EXACTLY that many dice on the table.
If the player ups the bid the game moves to the next player to the right. If the player calls BULLSHIT OR SAME, all cups are lifted and dice are to be counted. The person who loses the call must take a drink AND lose a dice.
If a SAME is called and correct all players but the person who called it lose a dice AND take a drink.
Liar’s Dice is played until only one person has dice left!
